Dr Fiona Fylan, Director *Chartered Health Psychologist *BPS Register of competence in Occupational Testing (Level A and Level B) *Member of the British Psychological Society

Fiona is a practising Chartered Health Psychologist with 15 years of experience of applied psychology. Fiona has worked internationally
in applying psychology to better understand client and employee attitudes and behaviours and in identifying how to enhance organisational performance by increasing employee motivation and wellbeing. She has extensive experience of evaluating the effectiveness of projects and strategies, in designing, conducting and analysing surveys, in undertaking and analysing interviews and focus groups, in data analysis using SPSS, and in developing and delivering training. She has worked across a wide range of sectors, including commercial and government organisations.

Beth Fylan, Director

Beth is an experienced research project manager, marketing and business consultant. She is a skilled researcher and data analyst whose methods include qualitative and quantitative techniques including statistical modelling, multilevel modelling and social network analysis.

Beth has an MSc in Social Research Methods and Statistics from the Centre for Census and Survey Research at the University of Manchester, and she is a member of the Social Research Association and a fellow of the Royal Statistical Society.

She has undertaken business consultancy work for both the public and private sectors, and has managed large- and small-scale projects, including the transfer of all Manchester City Council’s land and property records into digital formats. She has completed project management training at Manchester Business School and the Manchester Business School high value programme, as well as a PGCert in Business Information Systems. Beth has held business management and project management positions in the private sector, and also senior marketing positions in higher education.

Beth’s recent research projects include developing a cross-group customer satisfaction metrics system for a leading UK building service firm, two annual reviews of the Teachers TV service for the Department of Education, and a major piece of qualitative research into students’ career planning needs. She also offers training in research methods, including qualitative research methods, conducting focus groups and interviews, evaluation design and conducting research with children.

Lauren Caveney, Researcher

Lauren has a degree in Psychology and is currently completing an MSc in Psychological Approaches to Health at the University of Leeds. She is a skilled social researcher with a particular interest in health behaviours.

Since working for Brainbox, Lauren has undertaken work on a range of mixed-methods research projects for public and private sector organisations. These include research into understanding and evaluating changes in health behaviours. She has experience in project managing large-scale research projects, utilising a range of data collection methods, survey design and qualitative and quantitative data analysis.

Ruth Hawksley, Consultant

Ruth is a member of the Social Research Association and has a degree in Sociology and a Masters in International Development from the University of Manchester with a research training specialism. Ruth is a skilled social researcher with expertise in qualitative methods of data collection and analysis including content and discourse analysis, which she has applied to social policy.

Ruth has undertaken a wide range of qualitative and quantitative research projects in the public and third sectors and has significant experience in monitoring and evaluation. This includes contributing to the development of monitoring and evaluation systems at Oxfam GB to increase organisational learning.

Rehana Hussain, Consultant *Member of the British Psychological Society.

Rehana has an MSc in Health Psychology from Nottingham University and is a skilled trainer and facilitator. Rehana has provided training across the public, health and private sector organisations. She also has experience in research, data analysis, working with individuals with health conditions, applying psychological practices to help people articulate skills in managing their conditions. Rehana has experience in behaviour change and motivational interviewing. Rehana is qualified in level A and level B psychometric testing.
